The Tooth Collector Fairies: Batina’s Best First Day is a charming story about a somewhat clumsy little fairy named Batina. Batina, along with her friends, the very smart Lainey and the very short Lulu, have just graduated from Tooth Collector school! Today is their very first assignment, and they are all determined to do well. To encourage all of the new Tooth Collector Fairies to do their very best, there is even a special award for the Best First Day. But one fairy isn’t very happy today: Jolene didn’t pass her Tooth Collector classes, so she doesn’t get to go and collect shiny, well-brushed teeth. Jolene is so jealous that she’s very mean to Batina and her friends. She even tries to sabotage Batina’s first mission. Will Jolene succeed in ruining Batina’s first day, and keeping Batina from winning the Best First Day ribbon, or will Batina be able to find a way to finish her mission?
The Tooth Collector Fairies: Batina’s Best First Day by Denise Ditto is a skillfully written and beautifully illustrated children’s story that teaches several important lessons: always do your best, accept other people’s differences, never give up, and (of course) brush your teeth! After all, the fairies can’t fly if they don’t have magical fairy dust, and they can only make it from the shiniest, best brushed teeth. It’s a fun adventure that any young reader would enjoy as they join the Tooth Collector Fairies on their journeys to find the cleanest teeth to turn into fairy dust!
