The Tooth Collector Fairies: Batina’s Best First Day is a charming story about a somewhat clumsy little fairy named Batina. Batina, along with her friends, the very smart Lainey and the very short Lulu, have just graduated from Tooth Collector school! Today is their very first assignment, and they are all determined to do well. To encourage all of the new Tooth Collector Fairies to do their very best, there is even a special award for the Best First Day. But one fairy isn’t very happy today: Jolene didn’t pass her Tooth Collector classes, so she doesn’t get to go and collect shiny, well-brushed teeth. Jolene is so jealous that she’s very mean to Batina and her friends. She even tries to sabotage Batina’s first mission. Will Jolene succeed in ruining Batina’s first day, and keeping Batina from winning the Best First Day ribbon, or will Batina be able to find a way to finish her mission?

The Tooth Collector Fairies: Batina’s Best First Day by Denise Ditto is a skillfully written and beautifully illustrated children’s story that teaches several important lessons: always do your best, accept other people’s differences, never give up, and (of course) brush your teeth! After all, the fairies can’t fly if they don’t have magical fairy dust, and they can only make it from the shiniest, best brushed teeth. It’s a fun adventure that any young reader would enjoy as they join the Tooth Collector Fairies on their journeys to find the cleanest teeth to turn into fairy dust!

The Tooth Collector Fairies: Batina's Best First Day is a story book for children, grades k-3, written by Denise Ditto and illustrated by Gabhor Utomo. Batina was thrilled to hear the tooth alarm ringing early in the morning. It was her first day as a Tooth Collector, and she was determined to do the very best job she could. Batina had extremely large wings and could sometimes be clumsy because of them, but she knew she could still be the best at tooth collecting. Before she left her house, she took a fairy dust shower, which would enable her to fly. Then she went to meet her friends, Lainey and Lulu. They all would have their first tooth collection today, because so many children had lost their teeth. Everyone was excited when Crown Mistress Molar arrived and told them about their very important mission. Only well-brushed teeth could be made into fairy dust, and without it, the tooth fairies couldn't fly.

Denise Ditto's story book for children, grades k-3, The Tooth Collector Fairies: Batina's Best First Day, is a witty and entertaining tale about what really happens when you put those teeth under your pillow. Gabhor Utomo's illustrations are magical and sweet, and they work perfectly with the story. Ditto's tale also touches on how it's okay for people to look different, as best friends, Lainey, Lulu and Batina prove, and it shows how people working together can achieve seemingly impossible things, which is a very good message indeed. Batina's Best First Day educates while it entertains, and it may even get kids into brushing their teeth properly to make sure they can be used for fairy dust. The Tooth Collector Fairies: Batina's Best First Day is highly recommended.

The Tooth Collector Fairies: Batina's Best First Day by Denise Ditto is the story of Batina who is on a tooth collecting spree. Someone's lost a tooth and Batina is on a mission to be the best tooth collector ever. Her wings are humongous, but she is hell bent on not letting this interfere with her Tooth Collector job. Her friend, Lainey, is the smartest fairy in Brushelot and Batina is proud of her. Her other friend, Lulu, is the tiniest fairy in Brushelot. They are all sitting in the Tooth Collector's Class, waiting for Crown Mistress Molar, the oldest and wisest Tooth Collector. Batina collects her tooth, puts it in her pouch, but unfortunately her wings cause trouble and she loses it. Now she has to ask her friends, Lainey and Lulu, to help her find it. Will they be able to save the day?

The story is adorable and whimsical, and kids will love those fairies. The illustrations are enchanting and give good pace and movement to the story, breathing life into the characters. All the characters are magical and delightful and will fascinate readers with their actions. It's an excellent bedtime storybook and parents and grandparents can read it out to their kids and grandkids. It can also be used for interactive sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The message of not giving up, in spite of all the obstacles we face, is encouraging to young readers and Batina's effort is the best way to help them understand that.
