The Tabernacle: Living in Power Through Abiding Prayer by Timothy Dunlap is an uplifting book that will help readers find their true source of strength by learning to pray. The book speaks about the divine purpose of prayer and how it has been widely neglected in this era. The author's words are not a preaching or teaching tool, but speak about the primary purpose of prayer, the impact it has on one's life, and subsequently on the Universe. Though the book targets a Christian audience more, the teachings in the book are universal and practical.
I found the book empowering as it brings God back into one's life, helping each one of us to connect with Him intimately and personally. The book also shows prayer in its various forms and purposes, and is filled with knowledge and advice to all those who want to know more about God and prayer. Readers can understand the Bible better by reading this book. Later in the book, the author speaks about how the Tabernacle continues to function with blood and also how we all are saved, not by an event in history or an idea, but by the blood of Jesus Christ. The circumstantial evidence of Christ's existence within each one of us unfolds more and more as we flip through the pages. This book is also helpful in assisting Christians in forming a powerful personal relationship with God in their daily lives. An insightful and profound book that reiterates the power of prayer.
