The Reclamation: The School of Ancestral Guidance Saga Book 1 by Thorn Osgood is the story of Corilan Troxler. A girl who always knew that she was very different from the people around her. So she does the things that make her feel happy and satisfied about her life. True, her relationship with her father is not the best and she does not really fit in with other girls her age, but she knows there is one thing that she can always count on: the environment. She does everything and anything within her power to keep it healthy.
Nevertheless, when she starts having weird dreams, dreams about the end of the world, she knows that something is up, especially when she meets a person named Earthos. The Environment guardians need her help, and she needs to protect them and make sure that no harm comes to them. However, it is hard, especially when she is up against the likes of the rich and influential. The government and the industrialists don’t care about who they hurt, as long as they are making money, and that just makes her job much harder. Can she do it? Can she fight against people who are stronger and more powerful?
This socially awkward heroine just won my heart. She is simply amazing. I liked her; Corilan had a certain charm that you cannot ignore. She is strong, resilient, and very, very energetic. The story was fast paced, there wasn’t any unnecessary information, and it did not leave me wanting. I liked what I read and I liked the pictures created in my mind after reading it. The writer has a way with words that is unlike any other. Very well written.
