"The Premature Demise of Sonny B. Feelright" is a well-written, often humorous story with both major and minor characters who are humorous and also totally believable. For instance, Adonis the FBI agent, Charlotte's beautiful mother, and Margaret, the aggressive female newspaper reporter, add to the story line. The reader will read through the pages of this book holding their breath as Sonny gets into one almost lethal scene after another. The plot proceeds convincingly to the story's end with twists and turns and cars of different types and colors that follow Sonny B. Feelright wherever he goes. "The Premature Demise of Sonny B. Feelright" should be on everyone's summer reading list everywhere.

"The Premature Demise of Sonny B Feelright" by Dwight David Morgan is a mystery/thriller story with an unusual slant. Sonny, now a forensic accountant, is the son of hippies, rather embarrassed about his full name of Sonny Bright Feelright. He is a big, gentle guy, something of an innocent in the worlds of business, intrigue and love. His relationship with Charlotte is all over the place so that when a nasty rashness brings him into contact with the lovely Dr Liz, things look like Sonny's middle name - Bright. It is true that accountants are often under-appreciated, but here they are seen as the enemy. Someone first tries to blow Sonny up and then shoot him. Someone clearly wants him dead. But who? There turn outs to be quite a cast of possibilities. The world of finance and investment is a lot deadlier than it might appear and could certainly lead to Sonny’s premature demise.

This is a very entertaining and original book that provides an insight into the neglected but important area of accountants and company finances. It follows on from "The Unlikely Career of Sonny B Feelright", Morgan’s debut novel. It is fast moving with plenty of intriguing and complex characters along the way, such as Adonis the FBI agent, Melody the ruthless journalist and the eccentric Herkmeiers. There are no cardboard cut-outs but there are unexpected events at every turn with triumphs, disasters, setbacks, violence and romance. The author has an eye for humour as well as detail, sometimes sordid, which makes this the sort of book it is hard to put down.

Sonny and his two partners help unravel financial fraud and fueled by their success, they come together to start a financial investigative company. Six weeks after their doors open, they still have no business. That is until they come under attack. Business begins to pour in but the threats continue. The story follows the team's quest to find out who is behind the attacks and why. Things get heated when the attacks begin to be obviously focused on Sonny. Through it all, a budding romance between Sonny and one of his partners adds the necessary romantic spice to flavor the plot, especially when the lovely Doctor Liz Loveland enters the picture.

This book contains mystery, suspense and a bit of romance. It is well-written and the plot flows well. The mix of mystery and romance kept me interested. Even though one could tell who the bad guys were, the process of the characters themselves trying to get to the bottom of things was interesting enough to keep you riveted to the book. The many attempts on Sonny's life and all the romantic tension between the characters gave the book added depth. The characters were well-developed and the story is good enough to keep you coming back for more. The end was fitting; however, I was slightly disappointed at what happened to the bad guy, but I hope it ended this way because there is a sequel coming. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone who enjoys mystery and suspense.

He had just landed a job with a small investment firm in Chicago. His dilemma is whether to participate in an illegal takeover and further his career or divulge the information taking the risk of destroying any possibility of a career and a prison sentence. In this novel we again connect with Sonny B. Feelright. He now owns Feelright Intelligence Services LLC. "The Premature Demise of Sonny B. Feelright" stands well alone but reads much better if read after reading the first in the series. The prologue does an excellent job setting the stage for the action in book 2. "The Premature Demise of Sonny B. Feelright" begins with a bang as a bomb detonates. The blasts brings out the emotional side of Charlotte as she shows concern for his well-being. Son’s first thought was that just some kids were playing a prank but it soon became obvious that the explosion was not an innocent prank. A bomb and a mysterious black car leave little doubt that someone is out to get Sonny. Could this have anything to do with the “Black Widow”? Could it be the mob? Could it be a terrorist?

Dwight David Morgan has a talent for combining suspense, humor and romance to create a must read book. The humor is more than a bit snarky and tongue in cheek. The characters play well together. I expect this series could go on for quite some time.
