The Pig Patrol: Adventures In Space is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Maria Luchsinger. As the Mayor of Pigtown, Kati watches out for the families living there. Pigtown is the home of Percy and Camille of the famous Pig Patrol. Trained at the Pig Academy, the Pig Patrol had learned how to deal with every type of emergency, so when the American President rings, Kati alerts Percy and Camille immediately. A Black Hole is growing and may engulf Earth itself! In a flash, the Pig Patrol is aboard a rocket that is sent into space. How can they stop the Black Hole from getting any bigger? What can they do to stop this disaster from getting worse?
I found Maria Luchsinger's imaginative and interesting tale to be extremely positive and uplifting. Many children will also find the story to be one that helps them get through situations that need thought and planning, along with the help of an adult if necessary. The bright and beautiful colors will catch the attention of the most reluctant reader, immersing them fully into a fantastic world that they never would see otherwise. The different aspects of space travel are something children are often in awe of and learning about satellites, Black Holes, planets, and more could most definitely launch the careers of many budding astronauts of the future. I highly recommend The Pig Patrol: Adventures In Space to young readers worldwide who are over the age of five years.
