"The Peacock Angel" is the story of Azazel, Armaros and the other Decarchs or Watchers of man. These giants were trained to lead the other watchers and were educated by the archangels in eons past. Some left the First Estate where they had been raised to go to earth, in defiance of the rules laid down for their kind. Azazel had been imprisoned for eons. When he is finally released, he is determined to have vengeance and wreak destruction upon mankind and the heavens. To counter him, Mikhael, one of the archangels, awakens Armaros and gives him the opportunity to redeem himself by doing battle against the forces of evil. Mikhael reminds Armaros of the prophecy of Enoch and tells him that the two young descendants of Enoch, Thane Connally, a young night shift supervisor in a Louisiana correctional facility, and his brother Cane, are about to be attacked by Azazel and his forces.

Glenn Dale Bridges has created an intriguing fantasy based on the Book of Enoch. The tale of how the Decarchs came into being is fascinating, as is the tale of Og, the giant, and his little friend the demon Hidimba. There is plenty of action and adventure in "The Peacock Angel" -- from the training of the Watchers as they are growing up, to the demonic attacks on Thane Connally and his protectors. While the story opens in exotic locales including a mythical mountain built by giants, much of the action takes place in rural Louisiana where Thane, Father Lucas, Basia and Armaros prepare for battle, and Armaros tells Thane his story. "The Peacock Angel" is a satisfying and enjoyable supernatural thriller. I enjoyed it immensely and hope to read a sequel.

Thane Connally was a young prison guard from rural Louisiana, thrust into an ancient battle to fulfill his inevitable prophecy for the sake of all mankind, not to mention to save his own life. Azazel, the fallen angel whom archangel Raphael bound and buried deep in the sands of Dudael, had escaped. With his eight thousand years of rage and revenge, Azazel sought the utmost retribution against the ones responsible for his time in purgatory, by destroying earth with his dark army. The reluctant Thane and Amaros, a remorseful earthbound angel, worked together to stop Azazel, joined by unlikely comrades to make their mission a success.

The first chapters are slow-paced yet serve an introductory function well. The moment the actions started I found that I couldn't put the book down. Glenn Dale Bridges has written a beautiful and brilliant story. In "Peacock Angel", he has given readers the unique insight on the battle between good and evil in its highest form between superior beings. Captivating, strong and well-written plot line, as well as splendidly crafted dialogues and characters give no room for dull moments. The author presents a great sense of epic wonder through a great twist of imaginary based on biblical history, and I truly enjoyed it from start to finish. I look forward to the next installment in the series, and hopefully the second book will equal the greatness of the first, if not surpass it.
