She used to hunt for ancient treasures for profit, now Elisa Hill is a noble myth hunter who sincerely wants to learn about the ancient secrets of the world for the sake of validity and knowledge. Unfortunately, she often has to face a formidable and well-funded foe; an organization known as the Order. When she finds the evidence of Lemuria’s existence, she embarks on a quest to find the lost continent, determined to succeed before the Order and her rival ruin her plans again. The Myth Hunter is a breathtaking adventure written by Percival Constantine.
The Myth Hunter is packed with action and ancient mystery from start to finish, not forgetting humor as well. I cannot help but imagine Lara Croft when Elisa Hill is portrayed and the way the story starts off; five men attacking the protagonist with scimitars as she arrives at a small Caribbean island. The fighting scenes are exciting, fast-paced and very well described. The prose is perfectly readable and faultless. The villains are efficiently menacing, despite being rather one-dimensional at times, and the supporting casts are well developed, especially Maxwell Finch and Lakita Rai.
I am particularly fond of Lakita Rai, a professor of the archaeological studies department at Mumbai University. I hope her friendship with Elisa continues if author Percival Constantine decides to make the story as a series. The only flaw is the dialogue. There are times when cliche rears its head. Nevertheless, this is definitely a solid read and it did not disappoint me.
