The Music Therapy Profession: Inspiring Health, Wellness, and Joy by Christine Korb covers an interesting topic. Music Therapy is a profession that is underappreciated. Your life would be incredibly sad and lonely if you didn’t like music. I love the fact that this book is filled with essays from people who are actually studying music therapy or have graduated. You get to know why they chose the profession, what drew them to pick music therapy over any other profession, and why it is so rewarding for them. The book also offers a look into what music therapy actually is, what it does, what it means, and how beneficial it is for the mind, body, and soul.
You will also find what institutions or facilities offer music therapy to their patrons. So this is not only a book for people who want to understand music therapy but also for people who want to take it up as a profession. The narrative is so soothing and educational at the same time. It feels like a conversation with a friend on something they are very passionate about. This is a good book for people like me who are fascinated by this profession and excellent for people who want to know the scope of music therapy as a career, what are the job opportunities, what are internship opportunities like, and what it is like to be a music therapy professional. It can be a career enhancement; it can be something you do purely to make someone’s life easier and a little happier by singing together and sharing music together. The Music Therapy Profession: Inspiring Health, Wellness, and Joy by Christine Korb is a great insight into the profession. Really educational and entertaining.
