Richmond is a graduate from the University of Tasmania.
He spent many years working in the spatial-information industry; two of which were spent mixing it with the Kurds in pre-war Northern Iraq, as a consultant for the United Nations.
After evacuating himself to Russia he resided for twelve months in Moscow, acquainting himself with Russian life, enduring freezing winter temperatures, writing restaurant reviews for an ex-pat website and enjoying the cafe culture of a blissful Moscow summer.
Upon returning to Australia he devoted himself to writing fulltime. Many of his fiction short stories have been published in magazines such as "The Tasmanian Surveyor" and "Azimuth" and he has received an award for one of his poems "A Parent's Plea" in the 2010 FreeXpresSion Literary Competition. Richmond is a member of the Bondi Writers' Group (Fellowship of Australian Writers).
He lives in Sydney with his wife and two sons.

Our story began in Australia in the year 1984. Adam Henderson was a sophomore in high school. Roxley was a bully and Adam was his target. The abuse went from verbal, to a push, to a beating where he was stripped naked and left tied to a lamp post. Adam was caught between abuse at school and a father who did not see a need for him to continue his education when he could work at the granary. Adam’s only friends were his three rabbits; he talked with them knowing they were the only ones that listened to him. At night Adam had dreams, dreams that came true. Eventually he learned to control them. We move forward in time to the US in the year 2011. Sergeant Teddy Farrel’s dreams were of farming, raising grapes and making wine. His wife’s dreams were of his forgetting his dreams. A call to 911 brought Ted to the scene of an accident; a BMW lay twisted after running into a concrete barrier and then flipping end over end. Something about the accident bothers Ted but he isn’t sure what. Then an airplane crashes killing 200 people; again there seems to be no reason for the crash. After a report suggested that clairvoyant influence could be responsible, both para-psychological researchers and radical revolutionaries begin to investigate the 'accidents'.
“The Mind Man” is a rather dark tale that will appeal to fans of horror and paranormal genres. The characters show great depth and are very realistic with traits of egocentricity, insatiability, desire and adoration. This is P. D. Richmond’s first novel. He cleverly teases readers to turn pages by ending each chapter with a cliff-hanger. As if that is enough the author includes twists and turns that kept me up all night reading. There are a few problems in executing the plot, such as the dialogue, which is pretty tough when we move from one country to another. However, none of that detracted from the plot. The ending is superb. I look forward to more books by P. D. Richmond.
