The Magical World of Sebella by Thea Berg is a delightful book about Sebella, a witch who occupies a house once owned by a magician. Strange things happen in that house. A gargoyle's statue in the house comes to life when it is accidentally knocked down by Sebella's cousin. That way many weird things happen and the adventure begins from there. The magician himself does not know what is happening and he needs your help to save the castle.
The author has created a magical, whimsical world that can fascinate both young and old alike. Fantasy tales always take us to a magical world and give us the opportunity to dream, imagine, and unleash our thoughts. These types of books can actually stimulate the minds of children because it makes them think and use their creativity to create something unique, innovative, and amusing. The clues and the riddles at the end are interesting for readers. The creativity and imagination of the children are exposed to a different level, enabling them to break free from the barriers that fence their thinking.
All the characters are sketched very well, with humor, adventure, magic and fun woven through the incidents, making it an amusing read. The story is fast paced so readers will not want to put it down. The author's first venture is absolutely endearing and we are hoping to read many more magical stories from her.
