The Magic Tree is an inspirational children's book written by Michal Y. Noah, Ph.D. and illustrated by Chrissy Fanslau. Magic is a young tree who's smaller than his dad and not as leafy as his mom, but he's quite happy with who he is. He's got lots of friends who keep him company: birds, squirrels, butterflies and other living things. They all enjoy the sun's warmth and the joys of spring and summer. When fall comes around, Magic wonders why he can't run or fly away with his friends, and his parents explain how everyone is different and special. Magic, they explain, is extremely special and is perfect just as he is. When the winter cold blows in, Magic is unhappy and misses his friends, but then some winter pals come around and things don't seem so bad. And then it's spring again.

Michal Y. Noah's inspirational children's book, The Magic Tree, is beautifully written and Chrissy Fanslau's illustrations make this magical and positive book glow. The book is filled with bright and colorful pictures of Magic, his parents and his friends. Noah's message comes through on every page, and it's the best possible message both for the children it's written for, and for anyone else fortunate enough to come across this book. Magic's parents share their positive and loving outlook on life with their son and help him to understand how perfect he is right at each particular moment, and how his joy and love for others will resonate back to him. This is a perfect primer for a young reader and a marvelous read-aloud story for bedtime. The Magic Tree is highly recommended.

The Magic Tree is a delightful children’s story offering a fantastic opportunity for parents and teachers to open up conversation about the joys of life as well as embracing the changes that come along with it. Michal Y. Noah wrote this colorful and fun tale in a poetic style, which further adds to the enjoyment and the magic as well as the artistry of The Magic Tree. This story focuses on a little tree, Magic, growing from seed to adult and from season to season. He is nervous with the changes, but turns to his parents for guidance and support. Noah does a wonderful job sharing verses within the poems that make for splendid affirmations for children.

As a spiritual therapist and a homeschooling mom, I love The Magic Tree. I will be able to develop some magnificent lessons from it to use with my school age son. The pages are filled with brilliant colors, and the images most certainly aptly portray the joys and sorrows of Magic. As I read Noah’s words, I felt Magic’s emotions as my own; therefore, I would have to say that The Magic Tree truly is a timeless story for you and me. And to top it off, there are so many pictures that create further opportunities to discuss the feelings of the critters, Magic, his parents, the sun, and beyond. I believe this book will be simply magical to pull out and reflect on for years to come.

Author Michal Y. Noah, Ph.D. does a wonderful job of entertaining and enriching the reader in The Magic Tree: A Timeless Story for You and Me. There is a note to parents and teachers to help express Dr. Noah’s reason for penning such fine words. The author declares that "By going within, we can gain the wisdom and strength we need to face everything in life.” This is a great example from The Magic Tree of how it was able to overcome obstacles and difficulties to enrich the lives of others as well as to experience hope and peace for itself. Even in moments when it seems as though things may be dark and without hope, there is the desire to dig deep within and hope for the best. The reader is invited to share in this faith and allow their belief to stretch along with the characters. There are many friendly characters involved within the story including Scamper the Squirrel to Sparkle the Butterfly, as well as Hoppy the Bunny and so many others that help to bring the story to life.

The Magic Tree is illustrated by Chrissy Fanslau and she does an amazing job of bringing out such bright, beautiful and invigorating colors that allow the characters as well as the backgrounds to just come to life and pop from the page. The illustrations make the story line come alive and encourage the young reader to turn the page to see more vivid detail. This is a wonderfully written and illustrated book which should be in every school library and would be a great read for parents and children.
