The Lovely Haze of Baby Days by Lindsay Kellar-Madsen is a cute baby book that shows a pretty accurate account of what it is like for new moms and their little ones. This book talks about the day to day activities, as well as the nighttime duties of a new mother and her oh so cute little one. But this mommy's days or nights are not always happy and cheery or peacefully resting. It's a lot of work being a new mommy, with breastfeeding, the spit up, the drooling, the throwing up, but the baby is so cute. Then it's the housework, cooking, dirty diapers, so many dirty clothes, what's a mother to do? Not much time for rest, since babies have a way of demanding your time. But then you take a look at your sweet baby's face and it's all worthwhile. The love of mother and child.
I love the front cover with the precious picture of mommy and baby. Illustrator Mie Frey Damgaard does an amazing job with the illustrations. Looking at the pictures throughout the book gives me a sense of awe because each picture fits each page and the part of the story so well. The Lovely Days of Baby Haze is a book every new mother should have. Lindsay Kellar-Madsen pens a beautiful heartfelt story showing new mothers they are not alone. Every mother has these same feelings. This is an excellent book to have on hand to give moms-to-be or the new mother in your life. I just love this precious little book, and I will be the first one to purchase a copy for my daughter-in-law who will be a new mom very soon.
