The Lost Heir by Allison Whitmore is the story of Isabella Foxworthy, the heir to the Foxworthy Hotel. Isabella discovers she is an empath; she is able to feel what others are feeling. Approaching Isabella's 16th birthday, she is thrown into a world of magic and chaos where she must find the lost heir and save her hotel. Joining up with some unlikely friends, will Isabella be able to solve the mysteries as they unfold before it's too late?
The Lost Heir, while well written and enjoyable, did take some time to get started, but once it got going it was a great read. This may have to do with keeping the level of mystery going. I loved learning about the twins, Cleo and Xander, and brothers Seth and Micah. I enjoyed Isabella's character. In a lot of books I have read the female is usually following someone else, but Isabella is a strong main character on her own. I have not read a story along these lines before and I found the premise to be very intriguing. It was interesting to see the world through the eyes of an empath. Finding out about the Foxworthy family history and learning about the violet fire was fascinating. This book kept me curious and had me wanting to read on to find out what happens. I really enjoyed the story and the level of mystery within the plot. The ending had me wanting more.
