This is a delightful children’s story explaining why mincemeat pie no longer contains meat. Lauren takes the young reader back 500 years and introduces us to Scamper. Scamper is the reason mincemeat pies don’t have meat any longer. Originally, mincemeat had the meat of minces in them. To save the species of minces, Scamper came up with a brilliant idea. This book explains how the king was encouraged to stop having minces put into pies. Join the journey of minces from being hunted to being mostly invisible. Reading/hearing the story of the minces will entertain children of all ages.
Lauren Lynne has explored a centuries-old mystery and come up with a fascinating answer. Lauren writes in an entertaining style that is easy to read. Even young children will be able to read a lot of the book on their own. Having a parent draw the child into their lap and read the book together is a great way to bond. This light-hearted story will thrill children and spark their imaginations. Even adults will find themselves absorbed in Lauren's masterful writing. Lauren describes minces as if they are posing in her office as she writes. She has written this book as one who personally has seen a mince.
