Self-acceptance is an indispensable lesson for every person. Regardless of age, it can be difficult to accept having an attribute that makes us feel unusual. This is why children need to learn that it's okay to be different. Molly Carter explores this in The Little Green Pumpkin. The story is set on a farmer's field where many large pumpkins grew. Among them, there was a small green pumpkin. What she wanted most of all was to turn orange. Despite this, the other pumpkins loved her and encouraged her to be herself. This was not enough for the little green pumpkin until she went on a journey where she learned to accept herself. In this way, Carter shows us that diversity is one of the things that makes this world a colorful place.

The Little Green Pumpkin has charming images, and the colors emphasize an autumnal environment. All the characters are friendly and appealing. The story is uncomplicated and shows that while it is okay to be different it is also necessary to treat everyone with respect, regardless of their appearance. I found the moral of this story significant because we are not all the same, but if a child sees this as an issue, it will be more difficult to integrate into a group of friends. The story teaches us how important it is to learn to live with your differences and qualities. This story will give readers the confidence to be happy with themselves. Molly Carter shares a creative and original lesson about diversity.
