The Little Book of Self-Improvement by Alana Douglas is a self-help book that focuses on the important role that our habits play in determining our success or failure. The book emphasizes the need to continually practice good habits so as to attain success in both our personal and private lives. Each chapter of the book covers one of what Alana Douglas has picked out to be the ten most important positive habits, that if practiced will lead to positive results. The book looks at simple lifestyle changes like reading daily, practicing positive thinking, health and fitness, and several others to show how making these part of our lives will bring positive results and the negative effects of ignoring these habits.
The Little Book of Self-Improvement is a very informative self-help book that shows how a little change in our habits can result in a tremendous change in our lives. Alana Douglas uses easy to relate to advice to show that attaining better living is not rocket science, but rather it is as simple as continually practicing ten easy habits. Alana, however, goes ahead to acknowledge the fact that while these habits are easy, practicing them and making them part of our day-to-day life might be a challenge and might take some effort, but it is very possible. Reading this book made me realize how easy it is to change my habits and how doing so will enable me to attain my life goals. The book is brief and yet covers all the essential ingredients for self-improvement.
