Dwight Berry is not only a dentist, but he is also a photographer. However, more importantly, he is a servant to the Most High God. My wife loved lighthouses, and we have taken a few trips to take pictures of some of these critical structures. In The Lighthouse: An Earthly Example Of How To Obtain Spiritual Fulfillment And Guidance, Dwight shares his love for lighthouses, photography, other people, and God. His use of lighthouses to teach godly principles is fascinating. He feels that his happiness is directly connected to using the gifts God gave him. His purpose is to be a lighthouse to bring people to the Light. When you find the best in anything, you want to share it with everyone. Dwight wants to share his understanding of how our life is similar to a lighthouse. The goal of every Christian should be to lead others to Christ. This book provides a beautiful example to use in this endeavor.
If you live near a large body of water, you know the importance of lighthouses. There was a time we were looking for a lighthouse and were about to give up. Then, just as we were about to turn around, we saw the glint of a light. We followed it to the lighthouse. So often, we experience God’s grace but never see it. Dwight Berry teaches us to look for the light. Reading this book will encourage you to do that. In The Lighthouse, Dwight urges Christians to help each other shine to reduce crime, depression, and distress. The subject matter is fascinating, and the photography is excellent. Dwight may claim to be a hobbyist photographer, but the results are as good as any professional I know. Importantly, Dwight also includes warnings of the dangers that lurk. Lighthouses constantly battle against waves, wind, salt, and sand. God will give the victory, but we must remember godly living involves a fight.
