The Lady’s Marquess by C. K. Mackenzie is a fantastic historical romance that held my attention. The first installment of the Conrad Legacy plays out fictional events of the nineteenth century like a movie. Landon and Esme’s story captivated me, especially the latter. I love independent and assertive women who can also be sensual and loving, making Esme my ideal heroine! The development, storyline, characters, and writing style are unique. I also enjoyed the glimpses of the other characters, and the idea of Kaya and her fierceness appealed to me. It felt like a tribe of formidable women blessed with distinguished men. I can’t wait to read further installments because all the characters have stories. This romance also contains subtle life nuggets, like humility, rising above the past, compassion, love, and cherishing familial bonds. Mackenzie is a talented storyteller with a great sense of humor. Thank you for a beautiful book.
