The Keeper: Second book in the Wallis Jones series by Martha Carr takes off from where The List ends. Wallis Jones, after discovering that she is trapped between the two political powers who are manipulating her, also finds out that Norman, her husband, has a role in it but never revealed anything to her. Ned, her son, is also trapped in that both the parties want to use him as part of their conspiracy. This book also sees the plot revolving around Wallis Jones and the conspiracies that she faces while trying to put her life back on the right track.
Like the first book, the plot is tightly knit and compelling and it keeps readers glued to the book till the end. There is the same amount of twists, struggles, conspiracies and deception as the story progresses with the Presidential Campaign, Secret Service, and Wallis Jones trying to get out from being the target of the conspiracy. Though a political thriller, the story will entertain all readers because of the suspense and intrigue that runs through it. The dangerous and secret world Wallis Jones is pulled into is exciting to read about and it keeps readers wondering whether she will be able to save her family from the quagmire. It is an excellent book and it complements the first part beautifully. Wallis Jones is portrayed well by the author and readers feel her agony and helplessness while being trapped between the two political powers.
