Immerse yourself in an eclectic collection of poems with Roderick Makim's The Jungle Waits. The book opens with the thought-provoking poem 'Close is the Jungle,' an allegory showing how human civilization is just a step away from delving into chaos. 'Remains' is a moving reminder of the memories shared with a loved one who is no longer there. The narrator equates 'Doubt' to an insidious virus plaguing one's mind and soul with fear, insecurity, and uncertainty. The narrator lists the pros and cons of relying on mythology in 'Mythical.' Love is born out of nothing but imagination, beautifully shown in 'Imagination's Child.' 'Transactions' hits out at the shallow and business-like nature of relationships and interactions in the modern world. 'Politics' pokes fun at the ridiculously fraudulent nature of today's political leaders.

The Jungle Waits contains a diverse collection of poems, ranging from observational poetry to confessional poetry, all the while exploring the human experience and its various facets. Roderick Makim offers poetry lovers a poignant collection of poems and poetic storytelling that delves into a broad spectrum of topics and ideas with an underlying thematic narrative that sheds light on the different aspects of the human condition. In this book, you will read poems about love, relationships, societal issues, abstract ideas, and everything in between. Makim uses free verse with a unique poetic flair that is authentic and emotionally evocative, hitting you in the deep recesses of your heart. You will think about some of these poems long after you've finished reading them. This is one of those poetry collections you will want to revisit from time to time. Highly recommended.
