The Iron Queen (Daughters of Zeus) by Kaitlin Bevis is about Persephone who is captured by Zeus, trying to stand up against his power. Hades, her husband who loves her very much, wants to protect Persephone from Zeus and his torment. He comes up with a plan and Aphrodite also comes up with a plan.
I love the story. Greek mythology has always fascinated me. The characters, the stories, and the myths surrounding them always made me want to read more and more about their characters. Their aura is intriguing. This book will hold the interest of any reader and if that person is interested in Greek mythology, they won't put the book down till it is over. The author also introduces many other characters in this story.
The author has penned a beautiful story. I was impressed by the strength of Persephone's character, her resilience, and integrity. Hades' love for his wife is undeniable. How he tries his best to save her from the clutches of Zeus forms part of the story. The surprise bit here is how Aphrodite also tries to support Persephone. The book has rage, passion, love, anger, and hatred all handled with a lot of finesse and expertise.
The story progresses beautifully. It about three different characters getting caught up in a situation from which they need to escape. And will they be able to help each other? The book leaves you in suspense. How will Persephone escape or will she be able to escape?
