The Gods of HP Lovecraft by various authors is an entertaining collection of stories based on the monsters created by Lovecraft. An old woman despairs over a dying Earth and suffers nightmares about unusual creatures attacking her, creatures that couldn't possibly exist. Right? I enjoyed this story by Adam LG Nevill as well as the stories by Rachel Caine, Christopher Golden and James A. Moore. In Rachel Caine's story, Rose is working in a care home and is assigned to a new patient who begins to act mysteriously. Is everything as it seems with her? In Christopher Golden and James A. Moore's story, Jacoby and Harrington go exploring in the Arctic Ocean. What treasures will they uncover and, more importantly, what caused the ship they are searching for to sink? There were some genuinely creepy moments in the stories that I loved. Each author had a 'God' to write a story about and I think they produced some very imaginative and original tales. The characters were memorable and the stories were well written
The authors who have contributed to The Gods of HP Lovecraft have written some great stories. Lovecraft is very popular, especially lately, and I feel that this book will do very well on the market. I thought that these stories captured the essence of Lovecraft and were enjoyable reading. I would definitely recommend this collection to Lovecraft fans or even people who haven't read Lovecraft before as this would be a good book to start with, after the original stories of course.
