There's no need to fear, The God Squad is here to save the day! Written by Darlene Laney, The God Squad - Mission Him-Possible: The Distorted Mirror is the perfect encouragement for your little one to walk in faith. Chris, Eve, Angel, Sadie, Jade and Mia were all ordinary kids until one day they received the call of faith that changed their lives forever. Led by their mentor, Ms. Foster, The God Squad exists to change the world for Christ and accomplish typically impossible tasks. This book addresses the difficulties that many girls face, including a negative self image. Through the clever plot inter-workings and the strong character development, I was drawn into every single moment of the story.
Having a negative self image is not just a problem for many youth today, but a general woe of the human race. As we look only at the negative things about ourselves, our eyes become distorted mirrors, unable to see the good in anything else. Author Darlene Laney addresses such issues in her fun work, The God Squad - Mission Him-Possible: The Distorted Mirror. Within this band of motivated, God-fearing, encouraging group of girls are their own battles that they face daily. Laney humanizes this situation and, through her amazing progression of the story, provides hope for those searching for things to like about themselves. If you have a daughter, niece, sister, or girlfriend, I strongly suggest picking up this work. I was greatly touched by it and it was a very enjoyable read.
