The Galactic Zoo of Zorgon 7 by TJ Hayes is an original, beautiful, and epic story that introduces a variety of intergalactic creatures. Visit a zoo unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. This delightful exploration of unfamiliar creatures creates an interesting trip and is a fun way to introduce the concept of a grander universe. A delightful rhyme scheme gives the book a playfulness that will quickly catch children’s attention and is perfect for all ages. The tone is kept lighthearted and often humorous while also being informative about the different creatures. TJ Hayes maintains this playfulness throughout to establish wonder and curiosity so that children will want to know more about these creatures. The story examines each creature similar to how you would explore a zoo.
The writing is fast-paced, sharing only a few details of the background or personality of the creatures. The illustrations are stunning and creative details make each creature original while maintaining a science-fiction essence. Some are based on ordinary animals that have a few tweaks such as a mouse with added legs that can open portals, a dangerous normal-looking rabbit, and a lizard named Trevor that controls the weather. Others are more science fiction in appearance, ranging from one with a cloud-like appearance to aliens that are more sentient with computers and finances. These images complement the writing by showing clever visuals of the creatures in their natural environments. Children will have so much fun reading and exploring these creatures in The Galactic Zoo of Zorgon 7 and this book is highly recommended for all ages.
