The Fog Ladies: Date with Death by Susan McCormick is a fun murder mystery. The Fog Ladies, a bunch of senior sleuths who team up with a medical resident in their San Francisco apartment building, are at it again. The ladies sign up for a dating group for seniors, but romance soon turns murderous when Graham Parselle, a sophisticated gentleman who loves the ladies, falls off a cliff during an outing. Who pushed him? Was it one of his many dates? Did Olivia Honeycut’s new partner do it? And why? The Fog Ladies are back on the case and on the trail of a cold-blooded killer and soon find themselves in the crosshairs. Can they solve the case?
The Fog Ladies: Date with Death by Susan McCormick is part of a series, but I found it easy to read as a standalone. It’s got plenty of humor, with on-point dialogue and no waffling. The story centers around a group of senior women who couldn’t be more different from one another but who get on incredibly well. You’ll love them all, and you might even see your mom or granny in one of them – or even the woman you want to be when you reach their age! This is one of the best cozy mysteries I have read in a long while, with lots of action, plenty of suspects, and more than a few red herrings to throw you off the scent. It will keep you reading and guessing all the way through. This is a fun story full of suspense and plenty of twists, and it is a highly enjoyable read.
