Andrew is employed as a marketing manager in Los Angeles. His spare time is spent writing, hiking or snorkeling. He has a BFA from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Andrew spent many years drawing and painting sci-fi before writing about it. He has exhibited and sold art at Hive Gallery in Los Angeles, California.

If you are looking for a well plotted, well thought out tour through a world of wonder, a world that starts out looking like our world, but evolves into a world you will have trouble recognizing, then read The Filter Trap by A.L. Lorentz. I read Arthur C. Clarke’s Childhood End. I read Pournelle and Niven’s Footfall, and of course I've seen all the big budget and low budget movies about space and alien invasion. The Filter Trap goes a step beyond them. Great writing, realistic characters, and an awesome plot made me appreciate A.L. Lorentz's grand effort to create a huge novel tying many important themes together. The bottom line is “Does it work?” and the answer is a resounding “Yes.”
I spent the better part of a three-day weekend reading The Filter Trap. I quite simply couldn't put it down and it is a big book. A.L. Lorentz unveils his story slowly and carefully with great attention to detail. It is a big story with a lot of characters. They are written well and each character points us toward the answer to one question: What has happened to Earth? We start from the perspective of a huge natural disaster. The first part of the novel rolls out like one of the better disaster movies that were popular a few years ago. But this is not a natural disaster so the mystery deepens and the stakes are even higher than anything anyone could have imagined. The Filter Trap is a great novel. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy it.
