The Dreamlighters Go to Space is a children's adventure picture book by Mike Gammage. The story follows two siblings, Kaleb and Maya, who dream of going to space. One night, as they discuss their plans, they see a bright light in their room and a cloud that transforms into a human form. The cloud being introduces himself as Jazz, the Dreamlight Genie, assuring them that he is a friend and wants to join them on their space adventure. However, the siblings do not have a plan to reach space, so they ask for Jazz's help. Jazz explains that he came to make their dreams come true and will help them reach space. Join Kaleb, Maya, and Jazz as they learn what it takes to fly to space.
The Dreamlighters Go to Space exceeded my expectations. Initially, I anticipated a simple adventure story about space travel, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it also imparts knowledge of space stations and offers career lessons. The book takes children on a journey to launch sites and the cockpit and lets them meet engineers, meteorologists, pilots, and astronauts. It teaches children about teamwork, the power of their imaginations, and determination. Mike Gammage is an excellent storyteller who uses intrigue and suspense, gradually unfolding the plot until Kaleb and Maya find themselves in space and appreciate the effort required to send someone into space. The book is enjoyable and entertaining, with colorful illustrations that perfectly complement the story and depict Kaleb and Maya's excited expressions. I highly recommend reading this book with your children to inspire them to never give up on their dreams.
