Author Biography

K. N. Parker is a simple AWARD-WINNING author in his thirties, and was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He has three self-published works which, for the most part, people think are pretty nifty.

He shares heritages with two countries: America and Japan, and he spends his time between the two whenever possible. When in his late teens he thought it proper to teach himself Japanese, and so he did, and now can communicate with you in two ways, if applicable. When not writing or creating trouble in various coffee shops throughout the world, he enjoys graphic design, television, film, and absurdist, subtle, and very sarcastic comedy.

He also likes dogs.

The Deceased Miss Blackwell and her Not-So-Imaginary Friends by K.N. Parker is an exciting children's book about a 9-year-old boy named Martin. One day, Martin checks a book out of the library that contains many different spells. With this book, he manages to awaken a young girl named Victoria Blackwell, a young girl who died when she was nine. However, when he shows her the book of spells, and she finds a spell that would make her imaginary friends real, things take a turn for the worse. Her friends are monsters, and when they are set loose on the town, they caused a lot of problems. Will Victoria and Martin manage to turn the now-real friends back to imaginary friends once more?

I really enjoyed reading The Deceased Miss Blackwell and her Not-So-Imaginary Friends by K.N. Parker. The book is very well written and descriptive. This book is very funny and exciting. The characters are very likeable as they are good at problem solving. Each of the imaginary friends is well done, and I liked that they were very different from each other, and had distinct characteristics. The occasional pictures, by K.N. Parker, are very well drawn, and add a nice touch to the book. This book is a real page turner and will keep readers in suspense. I was hooked by the first page and I didn't want to put the book down. The book has many scenes that will make the reader gasp, or laugh out loud. I would definitely recommend this to older children.
