The world around us is filled with beauty in the people, in the events, in the world itself, and yet it can be difficult to see that beauty for ourselves. The poet is someone who can help us to see that beauty, but also to see the darkness behind it, to understand how both exist together and to make us feel more than we can on our own. This is a collection that will help you feel and truly see the emotions that the poet is looking to convey. You’ll experience heartache and loss but also the triumph and the love that goes into each of these poems in The Darkness of Enlightenment: Lyrical Poetry of Love, Life, Death, and Redemption by Shamus V. Mosby.
These short poems may seem simple at a first read, but if you stop and think about each one as you finish it, you start to recognize a whole lot more. There is definitely power in words and these words help you to see more than just what’s on the page. They help you to really experience what the writer is experiencing and what they felt when they first wrote those words. Poetry is about emotion rather than words, and that’s exactly what you’ll see here. The Darkness of Enlightenment is a story of every emotion you’ve ever felt and more. It’s about experiencing the different loves and losses that occur throughout your life, and helping you to finally put those emotions and those thoughts into words that you may never have been able to before.
