With his poll numbers high midway into his second term, Congress in recess, and no major issues reported in the country or around the world, the state of the world seemed to embrace perfect sanity, absolute harmony, and tranquillity, or at least that’s how the President of the United States thought of it all. Just when the President is about to leave for Poconos on his long-awaited vacation, secret service agent Blake informs him that a hundred pounds of uranium went missing after a break-in at Russia’s nuclear reserve in Bayanovka. Who could be behind the break-in? What damage can a hundred-pound nuclear bomb cause? What could be his or her target? Since the Russians were known to be very discreet in their dealings, it was obvious POTUS and his team would acquire intelligence about the matter on their own. After further consultation with agents Foster, Cooper, and Blake, POTUS finally has a lead on the main suspect. From the suspect’s apparent reputation, the President and his team agree they’ll need their best security personnel to work on it. Kori, a highly trained and skilled secret service agent, is the President’s first choice for this job. Will she be able to save the US and probably the rest of the world from the looming terror attack? Find out in A.P. Rawls's amazing book, The Dark Tetrad.
The Dark Tetrad is an ace piece of work. A.P. Rawls is an accomplished, professional, and magnificent writer. I relish well-told stories with a good flow and a perceivable plot, and it only gets better if the book has more to offer, like the intriguing plot and the exciting characters in The Dark Tetrad. I loved how brilliantly the characters were developed; it’s easy to tell a character’s personality and traits. For instance, Kori Briggs is an intelligent, reserved, exceptionally talented beauty. She is the type of person who is tremendously good at what she does. Although the story starts with a slow pace, the suspense created gives it a gripping tone. It gradually picks up its pace as the plot progresses. There is tension, thrills, adventure, amazing plot twists, secrets, love, deceit, action, a lot of exciting action, and more. The graphic and vivid depictions the author gives of scenes and characters make the story seem like a movie. This comes in handy with the adventurous tone of the book; it made the reading experience one of a kind and I thoroughly loved it. A.P. Rawls’s style of writing is just great. The author makes the story almost real with the informed facts occasionally given about the characters and general history. The conversations were fun to read. I loved how sophisticated yet comprehensible the vocabulary is. If you love thriller and espionage books, this is a must-read. I was excited to learn that The Dark Tetrad is the first installment in the Kori Briggs series. I can’t wait to read the next installments.
