In a captivating and interesting new book by author Simone Mendonça, The Cemetery Owner is a story that will grab readers from the very beginning and won’t let them go until the very last word is read. Following the story of Ze Maria, the being forced to own the Caju Cemetery for one hundred years, and to greet all of those who cross over from life to death, many interesting characters will be met, and their lives examined. Ze Maria himself committed a serious infraction during his life, and is serving out his penance in the cemetery. Those who drive by the seemingly quiet place could not imagine what truly goes on each day, and readers will be enthralled to find out how much life goes on between this world and the next.

I very much enjoyed The Cemetery Owner. Author Simone Mendonça has done a great job in creating characters that readers will be able to connect with, relate to, and truly care about. Scene setting is fantastic, and the very unique placement of the action in the cemetery setting is not something I have seen before. Readers who enjoy fiction with a paranormal edge and great character building would definitely love The Cemetery Owner. I highly recommend this book, and I hope that author Simone Mendonça will release more English-language works soon. I, for one, will certainly be eagerly watching for them. If they are anything like The Cemetery Owner, they will absolutely be worth the read!
