The Bunny Who Lost A Tooth is a children's book written and illustrated by Evelya Vela. A young bunny named Isabella loves being a princess and wearing her shiny crown. One day while playing in her vegetable garden, Isabella realizes she has lost her very first tooth. Isabella starts to panic when her thorough search through the vegetable garden reaps no reward. After more searching, however, Isabella discovers her missing tooth before realizing she has also misplaced her beautiful shiny crown. Another search ensues, resulting in its discovery in a tree. Before she can lose anything else, Isabella rushes home so she can put her tooth in a safe place for the Tooth Fairy.

Evelya Vela's tale of youth and the innocence of losing one's very first tooth brought a smile to my face as I read. Children seem to get so panicked about little things as (to them) their issue seems like the biggest problem in the world. The drama and excitement shown by Isabella, not only by the loss of her first tooth but also by the threat of her disappearing crown, is easily conveyed to the reader in the clever words used in The Bunny Who Lost A Tooth. The fact that Isabella's tale was penned by a delightful and talented eight-year-old author added a brighter spark of innocence to this enchanting tale. I highly recommend The Bunny Who Lost A Tooth to be read by (or read to) youngsters aged 4-8 years of age, so that the adventure in losing one's very first tooth does not come across as a great loss and tragedy, but as a great adventure in one's young life.
