The Blue World: Anunnaki Advent by Paul Clayton succinctly tells the story of how the arrival of the Anunnaki on our world has set the stage for the rise of human civilization. Building upon the ancient astronaut theory proposed by Zecharia Sitchin in 1976, The Blue World melds mythology, history, and science fiction into a fantastic tale that draws you in and never lets you go.
Origin myths are an integral part of every civilization. A significant part of what makes us human is that desire to delve into our beginnings and create stories of how we came to be. The Blue World manages to tell a fast-paced, compelling story and I found no greater enjoyment than when the narrative took twists and turns, giving me pieces that clicked into place with an established history, the ancient astronaut theory, as well as with biblical lore.
Told in a matter-of-fact style that reflects the restraint of Enki as the son of Anu, his transition from a laconic, strait-laced Anunnaki to the benevolent protector of his human progeny highlights that our world has had as much an impact on their alien race as they have on our world. The Blue Planet emphasizes that though genetically humans existed the moment the first Anunnaki sired an offspring with an Adam, it was Enki’s compassion for his forebears and his care for their safety and future that shaped human existence into the familial bonds, sacrifice, ingenuity, and compassion that should always define humanity as a race.
