The Blessed Knights by Mary Ting is the second book in The Angel Knights series. It's been days since Eli was captured, leaving Lucia and their friends to find him before they lose him forever to Cyrus, master of possessor demons. With time running out, the Chosen Knights race against Cyrus to decipher a missing page of Jacques de Molay's journal, while searching out the answers to the children going missing around the world. The Knights are led to a Hawaiian volcano in order to track down Mortem, a demon that will lead them to Cyrus. Can they stop Cyrus's plans before it's too late?

“Above a small hill lay a home. And green men peer out under the dome,” opens the elegant clue that drives the characters. Mary Ting has a lovely way with words, digging into several characters and making their individual voices different. Ting supplies a great deal of snark, which is delightfully done and humorous. The Blessed Knights is a both a tragic love story and a coming of age tale, dealing with first love, friendship, family, and a quest to save the world. The battle between good and evil isn't a new idea, but Ting takes a new approach, with every character a mix of the two. None of the characters are perfect, for they have flaws, make mistakes, have tragedies, and keep trying. That's what makes them compelling. The end leaves off with flowers, mysteries, and new arrivals that will have you craving more!
