It is clear from the first line of the first poem of Bernard Levine’s collection The Best of Bernard Levine (Volume 1) that the poet lives and writes solely for the purpose of inspiring others to love God and to spread the joy of God’s love to everyone they meet. The entire volume is a series of heartfelt affirmations - secrets to life - that have been refined into sparkling jewels of motivation and inspiration. The Best of Bernard Levine (Volume 1) is a compendium of reminders that blessings and gifts are everywhere in our lives, if only we will open ourselves to receiving them and being grateful for divine love so freely given.
The lines most representative of the tone of the whole collection come from “Secrets of Living”: Don't look at how big your problem is .......look at how big God is/A big secret of life is/to always/have something/to look forward to tomorrow. Levine urges his readers always to be looking forward, not only in the anticipatory sense but also in the sense of looking forward to receiving a heavenly reward for a life well lived. As a result, the poems are doubly inspirational - doubly meaningful.
Bernard Levine is clearly a man who loves all life, who loves HIS life, and loves his fellow human beings. His message is simple, straightforward, and inspiring: love one another as God loves you. The Best of Bernard Levine (Volume 1) by Bernard Levine is a breath of sweet inspiration for all those in need of affirmation and would be a perfect gift for anyone in need of a spiritual or emotional lift.
