The Andromedans (The Empire Book 3) by Elizabeth Lang is the third book in the Empire series, and it would make sense if readers read the preceding two books first - though you can also enjoy the third book on its own if you are willing to be a little confused at the beginning (like I did, because the plot interested me). In the novel, you follow Kali and Adrian, two lovers who don't ever seem to be able to have a break. While Kali is mainly driven by wanting to save Adrian, a lot more is at stake than just the work and sanity of that man. The backdrop is that of a space opera, and while you could easily define the novel as science-fiction, it also has a fair deal of romance and philosophy packed into it.
The Andromedans (The Empire Book 3) by Elizabeth Lang is a well written novel that does not just focus on the typical elements of a science fiction soap opera. While it took me a while to really get into it, I started to enjoy the development of the characters. Each of them is unique and you barely find any of the typical stereotypes of the normal SF novel. There is a lot of dialogue in stages, and while I usually am not such a big fan of dialogue driven plot, I did enjoy the interactions between the characters. They did not seem forced or unnatural. I also liked that Elizabeth Lang managed to find a good balance between using descriptions and then leaving things to the readers' imaginations. Some authors treat their readers like little children who can't think on their own - so it's nice to read a book in which this isn't the case.
