The Adventures of Jimmy Crikey: The Emerald Lake is a children's fantasy adventure novella by Wallace E. Briggs. Jimmy Crikey is an alien orphan from the world of Attalia who has made Earth his forever home. Friends with the four witch guardians and Lord Oron, the master of weather, Jimmy lives a happy life in the town of Roombelow. But when the Aquamites from Lake Emerald seek chief witch guardian Matilda's help to stop the carnivorous horde of water serpents that were creating havoc amongst the Aquamites, Jimmy must find a way to draw the monstrous creatures away from Lake Emerald. A fierce battle ensues, leading to Jimmy's newfound friend Annison sustaining a severe injury. With the witches unable to heal Annison, it is now up to Lord Oron to seek help from his all-powerful master.
The Adventures of Jimmy Crikey: The Emerald Lake is a fantastic addition to Wallace E. Briggs's The Adventures of Jimmy Crikey Series. In this installment, Jimmy and his friends must help a community of aquatic people from being eaten by deadly water serpents born out of the darkest depths of the Earth. An inspiring tale about friends and allies coming together to help each other battle overwhelming odds, The Emerald Lake is scintillating from start to finish. The characters are very well-developed and immensely likable. The mutual care and affection between Jimmy and his friends feels genuine, and it makes the reader sympathize with their plight. A wonderfully entertaining fantasy adventure tale for kids and young adults alike.
