Mike Goldstein is a consultant with more than 50 years of international experience in counseling, business and finance. The Adventures of Jimmy and Andrew represents his first foray into fiction, and started as stories told to his grandson. The book is the latest step in a career that has included global travel and work for international organizations, as well as decades-long work as an independent business owner and consultant. Mr. Goldstein’s past published work includes Idenics: An Alternative to Therapy, which was published in 2008. Mr. Goldstein is a fifth generation Coloradan, and has lived and worked in Aurora, CO for nearly 40 years.

The Adventures of Jimmy and Andrew, Book 1: American Stonehenge is written by Mike Goldstein. In San Diego, Jimmy Edwards has been waiting for his 9th birthday for some time. Now in the summer of 2007, the day has arrived. Jimmy's parents have promised he can finally get a dog. One particular dog called Andrew catches Jimmy's attention. Andrew can somehow communicate with him telepathically. Jimmy discovers that Andrew was born in ancient Egypt around 3300 years ago and was once owned by Tutankhamun. When Jimmy's archaeologist parents are told about the discovery of an ancient site of large stones very similar to Stonehenge in England, they waste no time travelling to Washington to begin the excavation, taking Jimmy and Andrew along for the adventure. As they trek to the site deep inside a forest, they are joined by some interesting guides who share disturbing truths about the forest and those who dare to disturb the ancient site. Jimmy and Andrew find themselves on a mission to solve the mysterious disappearances of previous visitors to the site and the truth behind the legend of the forest gremlins. When they come face to face with the gremlins, they realize they may have just solved the mysteries of the universe.
The Adventures of Jimmy and Andrew: American Stonehenge is such an enchanting tale that will draw you into the world of the imaginative characters immediately. I absolutely adored the bond between Jimmy and Andrew and how beautifully it developed as the story unfolded. The author takes us on a magical journey of adventure, excitement, and shocking twists and turns while at the same time educating the young reader very cleverly on major events throughout history. I admired how the author teaches us remarkable facts through Andrew's backstory; this was ingenious. I love a story where you can learn valuable lessons and every aspect of this book ticked all the boxes for me. From ancient Egyptian times and the Druids in England to the age-old rituals and traditions and the Vietnam war, every event is brought to life with colourful and vivid mastery. The legend of the gremlins/forest people reminded us how beautiful nature is and how important it is to preserve it. I cannot wait for Book 2 Land Of The Caverns and to discover what is next in store for this wonderful duo, Jimmy and Andrew.
