Being able to explain a concept as big as Jesus to little ones isn't always easy, but That's Jesus! An Introduction for Little Ones by Amanda Statzer makes it simple, relatable, and fun. Each section starts out with a child-appropriate question, such as the first one, "Who knew you before you came into this world, and if you would be a boy or a girl?" The next page gives you the answer, "That's Jesus!" along with a colorful illustration of the answer. The second question is a cute one that kids will relate to: "Who knew your name before Mommy did, and that you would be such a funny kid?" followed by an illustration of both a child and a dog wearing funny glasses.
The questions contained in this short book for young children are ones they can understand and like, such as who cares about their scrapes, who is their forever friend, and who knows the number of hairs on their head. Amanda Statzer closes That's Jesus! An Introduction for Little Ones by explaining to them that while they can't see Him, they can feel His love now and will recognize Him when they get to heaven. Statzer also includes a reminder for parents taken from Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” This is a good book to read to young ones to teach them about Jesus.
