Terry the Troublesome Troll by Dylan Ingram is an adorable story for kids. Terry the troublesome troll lives in Happy Land and no one there likes to play with him because he is not nice to anyone. One day while he was playing, Mrs Sparklebottoms takes Terry to her office because he is trying to ruin other kids' games. Terry is always made to sit in the naughty corner and he does not like it at all. One day while going back home, Terry trips and falls and gets hurt. The elves come and help him, even though he is always bad to them and spoils their game time. Is this a chance for Terry to turn over a new leaf?
I found the story cute and adorable and the illustrations complement the author's words nicely. They also breathe life and movement into the characters and scenes. It's a good bedtime storybook that parents and grandparents can read out to their kids and grandkids. The book is also good for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. Terry's effort in making friends is finally appreciated by Mrs. Sparklebottoms and the story is also a good example where children are shown about the kindness of the elves. The book has a message for young readers which makes it even more exciting to read and understand. Children's stories with a message/moral/concept are excellent for children as they are able to understand things more easily through a story.
