For those who enjoy well-crafted stories and cunning plot points, Tegen Hunt makes for an absorbing read. I particularly enjoyed the way the author handles the conflict. The protagonist is a character who once heard the confession of a hardened criminal, and now that the criminal is free, the one weapon that can take him down is Sara's testimony of that confession. The tension builds strongly as the narrator explores Sara’s emotions. The author creates a new species called the Tegen, part human and with a spider DNA. It is exciting to explore their world and to follow the way they are organized. The story is in the first-person narrative with a strong and compelling voice. The story is well-narrated, with interesting dialogues, streams of consciousness, and descriptions that create vivid imagery. Inge-Lise Goss's novel is balanced, compelling, and a page-turner.

Tegen Hunt is the fourth book in the Tegen series by Inge-Lise Goss. The story of Sara continues as she tries to survive while trying to save the people from Tegens. When Sara is asked to look into the mysterious death of an acquaintance’s son, she knows this is something that she cannot ignore. She is working hard every day to find out what happened before it is too late. But the more truth she unravels, the more flustered she becomes. It is becoming far too complicated than it needs to be and there seems to be something suspicious behind all of this. There is something fishy going on with Conner as well, but she cannot put her finger on what it is. To make matters worse, a mad Tegen is out to get her and will not stop until he has her blood on his hands. Now, it is a race against time as she tries to solve a murder while trying to stay alive.

Author Inge-Lise Goss has a way with words that just makes you lose your train of thought and become immersed in the story. She has a gift that makes her narrative style very special and incredibly, richly detailed. This whole series is one of the most immensely detailed and engrossing and Sara’s character is one of the most powerful in the genre. Her growth has been tremendous and the way she is portrayed is beyond entertaining. I revisited Sara after a long time and to see her as a confident woman who is no longer afraid of the future was very heartwarming. She now believes in herself, she is aware of her strengths and she is fully in control of what she can do. She plays to her strengths while also being humble about her shortcomings, which makes her a very well-developed character. I enjoyed this novel, I loved every action-packed and heart-racing moment Inge-Lise Goss gave me. Brilliantly detailed and amazing to read!

Digging deeper into the life of Sara the Tegen, Inge-Lise Goss takes you along on a mission with her as she searches for a killer for an acquaintance in Tegen Hunt. Sara is being hunted by the renegade Tegen, Blake, when she decides that hiding under an alias in Albuquerque allows her to hunt down the man who killed Daniela's grandson. As she begins her investigation, she finds many people have come up missing or dead. The Keg House seems to have connections to these killings and that is where Sara finds employment. The bar becomes a hot place when the boss expects a big business deal to go down and the potential associate ends up being her crime leader boyfriend. Sara finds herself occupied with multiple distractions; Connor and his bodyguards, narrowing down the killer or killers, and staying hidden from Blake, though he knows exactly where she is at.

Tegen Hunt is the fourth in Inge-Lise Goss's Tegen series. When people can control poisonous spiders and rely on them for their strength and healing, you know it's going to be a great and chilling read. Blake insists he just wants to talk and manipulates his father and friends into believing Sara simply misunderstands him. This novel's intensity continues to build as Sara realizes Connor's bodyguards and the Tegen enforcers cannot protect her from Blake. You will become fully invested in Sara's outcome and relieved when you realize this is not the end of Sara's story. This is a skillfully written novel that leaves the reader hanging on every word, anticipating the next deception and kill. If you like thrillers with a touch of romance and chilling horror waiting around every corner, you will love this novel.

In Tegen Hunt, author Inge-Lise Goss introduces us to a new breed of “superheroes”, Tegens. Tegens have been turned by being bitten by a poisonous spider and now have powers akin to Spiderman. They can climb walls, shoot webs and they can inject venom into any mortal who is threatening them. Tegen society, though, is very strictly run and humans must never discover the Tegen secret. Sara is a relatively new Tegen and when she accuses a high-ranking and well-connected Tegen, Blake, of heinous crimes, many of her fellow Tegens seem more prepared to accept Blake’s version of events than Sara’s. Sara is on a mission to break up an opioid ring that murders its employees when and if they start asking too many questions. She must be on the lookout, though, for Blake. He is determined to find her and shut her up permanently. Fortunately, along with her own considerable skills, Sara has a Tegen warrior, Kendall, and her human lover, Connor, who will do whatever it takes to keep Sara safe.

When I started reading Tegen Hunt, I had my doubts that it would be my type of story, however, author Inge-Lise Goss soon had me entrapped in her Tegen world and I was fully committed to Sara and her safety. I found the Tegen premise to be original and imaginative and I felt the author took the characters to an interesting level. Sara was clearly the star of the story and, given her empathy and understanding of humans, it was very easy to identify with her and root for her. The story is exciting, fast-paced and what I particularly liked about it was that the characters, especially the superhero Tegens, were far from perfect and all had their flaws. Sara and her team’s success depended on working together, in spite of their flaws, to find and destroy Blake.

The writing is obviously aimed at a young adult audience and while I think this definitely hits that mark, it is an excellent read for all ages, YA and above. There is a smidgen of romance in there for those that like their action with a bit of steam but it is definitely kept at the GA level and no further. This is a series that focuses on the Tegen society and lifestyle and it definitely piqued my interest to want to read more on this group. It appears the Tegens have a well-structured and ordered hierarchy and society which was only briefly touched on in this story and I would love to discover more about them. An excellent read.
