Tallamun is a work of fiction in the fantasy and action/adventure sub-genres and was penned by author T. E. Norris. Set in a far off world quite unlike our own, the novel takes its title from a fabled place of riches and true paradise. For the ravaged and collapsing Empire of Caedia, Tallamun is an ultimate goal. So when protagonist Edo Fuentas discovers a map that may well lead him to this haven, there begins a journey of epic proportions. On that distant shore, however, another figure waits, and the meeting of the two begets portents of destruction and devastation in both of their futures.
Author T. E. Norris has created a highly atmospheric and engrossing epic fantasy tale of brave journeys, fabled utopias, and dead prophecies which will be sure to tantalize and excite readers right from the off. One of the things which I admired most about this novel was its commitment to worldbuilding and atmosphere, which really does transport readers into this new world. Careful thought has gone into the history and development, along with strong descriptive work that gives cinematic realness to the prose. Edo and Tamber are both realistically crafted central figures, with raw emotive moments to draw readers close to them, and exciting action scenes which put them to the test. The plot construction is well-paced to lay out an epic adventure that has quite a few twists in store. Overall, I would certainly recommend Tallamun for all fantasy fans, and especially those seeking a far-flung adventure with unique characters and solid writing.
