From the cop John Ryan to the Dame Carol Cortland, from the Ballroom Dancer to the Tour Guide, Alexander Flint has a story that will surely interest you in his book "Tales from the Sea." These are stories from his experiences on several cruises aboard two majestic ships of the Cunard Line, The Millennium World Cruise, which left NYC in January 2000 aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2, and then one summer a little later on, the author spent two weeks aboard a more modern version of the ship, the Queen Elizabeth. Though I found some of these stories somewhat weird, I still enjoyed reading them. Some are funny, some are sad and some are realistic whereas others are almost unbelievable, but they all come together in one way: they are all stories from people aboard cruise ships with this author. Each story is very different, and about very different people. As you can imagine, there are all kinds of people on each cruise, and Flint captures the personalities of many of these people in his stories. But it is not just the stories; it is his ability to write them in a unique way that will capture many audiences.
If you enjoy short stories, you will find "Tales from the Sea" a very entertaining and enlightening book to read. With this book, you have the option to read one story at a time, or read them all together. There were times when I only had a few minutes to read, and this book was wonderful for those times because each story just takes a few minutes. Either way, this is a book you will want to pick up and read.
