Kaley is looking forward to a fun weekend getaway with some of her church friends. Her ex-boyfriend Reef is part of the group, but they can still enjoy the ski slopes. Take My Hand by Kristen Hogrefe Pernell is sure to please readers with thrilling twists, fast-paced action, and heartwarming moments. This is the first in a new romantic series, Crossroads Suspense. We read Kaley & Reef's story and meet some of their friends.
Take My Hand by Kristen Hogrefe Pernell has a little of everything I look for in a romantic suspense read, and I loved it. With exciting action, likable characters, and tender moments, the story does a great job of balancing the suspense elements with the developing romance. Take My Hand also has a small-town feel that complements the Tampa setting in the rest of the story, allowing Reef the scope to exhibit his outdoor nature. Kaley is also gifted, with a caring nature that serves her well as a therapist and her talent for planning. I enjoyed seeing her grow and begin to understand that being different is sometimes a good thing; it is interesting to see her try new things, and I was impressed with how creative she proves to be in the story. I also loved seeing some of their friends and look forward to more of their stories in the future.
