The second book in C.D. Bryan's Flight Knight series, Take Me to Your Leader, tells about a mysterious mission for beginning Flight Knights Parker, Mark, and Hanna. They receive a message that there is an alien threat to the nearby community. Parker's new neighbor as well as the new science teacher, Mr. Mackey, rouse their suspicions because of some wacky behavior. They begin to spy on his house, but what walks out of his garage will surprise and threaten not only the community and the big picture, but their own personal lives. They will need to work as a team and figure out how to stop the alien invasion before being taken to the leader.
I enjoyed this second installment in the Flight Knight series. It was fun and mysterious. There are a few surprises as the book progresses, as well as some exciting moments. Whereas the first book was a great adventure and action story, this one is more of a mystery. It did not quite live up to my expectations that I received from reading the first book, but it is definitely a very solid addition to the Flight Knight series. The adventure does not progress as fast as in the first book, but there are still very enjoyable moments. As a teacher, I am happy to say that this is a clean and exciting book for young children. They will fall into the action and be able to relate to Parker, Mark, and Hanna. I would recommend this book series for any young person that enjoys a science fiction read.
