Susie And The Missing Children (Susie's Adventures) by Susan Valentine is the second book of this series. Susie is a very talented girl. She is contacted by two aliens who need her help in tracking some missing children. Lord Botanica is an elderly man who lives on the Magic Island and teaches Susie how to improve her talents and take it to the next level. She passes through a series of difficult moments. Ricky, Susie's good friend, is older and is her companion in solving the mystery. The other character that is impressive and makes a lasting impression is Lord Botanica. The story is inspiring too. Susie's selfless behavior is a lesson for children and also adults. Her helpful attitude is something that should be appreciated.
The book has an adventure and fantasy theme laced with science fiction. That means it has all the ingredients that will appeal to a young reader. Children are attracted to adventure and mystery because deep down it is something they would like to experience. The story's pace is kept up well without the reader getting bored. The colorful illustrations do wonders breathing life into the characters and the scenes. Pabella, Celius, and the spaceship are all part of the book which children will find very exciting. Will Susie be able to find the missing children? Will she be able to meet the challenges and help the aliens? Will she use her 'powers' to the full?
