Supergirls by Mav Skye is a novella of suspense and horror. Jenn and May are sisters; Jenn the oldest, who looks out for her baby sister. They have a plan – to rob a rich perverted millionaire of a stash of cash. Their plan is a pretty simple one – they tie him up, take his money and leave town. But nothing ever works out the way it’s planned. Add one villain into the mix, one who has a really wicked imagination and Jenn and May find themselves in a bit of trouble. Drawing on a game they used to play as kids, Jenn and May find themselves pitted in a battle of life or death – theirs. Can the Supergirls find the money and escape with their lives or will they end up the same way as others before them obviously have – if the pile of heads in the cellar is anything to go by!!
Welcome to the madhouse. Supergirls by Mav Skye is only a short story but there’s plenty packed into it. This really isn’t for younger readers or for anyone who may be a little squeamish or faint-hearted. Ms Skye has a real talent for words and clearly has a deep imagination, albeit a strange one! The story had plenty of go in it, right from the start (and I must say the opening to the book was one of the strangest I have ever read) and there is no let up until the end. I understand there is a sequel coming out this year; I wouldn’t be averse to giving it a look.
