Super Daddy Bedtime Questions by Nicolas Pavlou is a rhyming story ideal for dads to read to their young sons (or daughters too, of course). The boy in the story asks his father a series of questions in the attempt to find out if his dad has super powers. Can he fly? Can he shoot lasers from his eyes? Can he run faster than a train? Does it thunder when he laughs? The answers his dad gives him tell his son that he might not possess super powers, but everything he can do as a loving dad makes him a hero anyway.
How lovely to find a special book for dads to read to their children. Children usually think their dad has super powers, and of course in many ways they do. This short and charming story written in a gentle rhyming style makes perfect bedtime or any time reading. The bright, colorful illustrations are appealing and show lots of familiar day to day situations, as well as super heroes going about their usual business.
I love the honesty of the dad in the story as he answers his son’s questions. And the message that being a regular, loving and caring parent is more important, with more powerful consequences, than possessing super powers anyway. The father and son have a lovely relationship, and the little boy in the story is happy to know that he has a dad who loves him and loves playing with and caring for him. That, of course, makes his dad very special and a hero anyway. Just loved it!
