Strange Times in Yeehaw Junction: A Bizarre Journey Born of Unforeseen Circumstances and Questionable Decisions by Rick Sanders points out that the line between sanity and being just flat-out nuts is indeed a thin one. The best friends of the story, Thomas and Lee, find out the truth of this statement as they head off on the highways of Florida to deliver a treadmill. On this journey they pass though a town called Yeehaw Junction and that is where it all goes to an interesting world. They find Jell-O wrestling matches, an imaginary dog with a drinking problem, and four hunters on a maniacal quest to bag the elusive Jackalope, not to mention romance.
This is a very different book! Different in all the best ways possible though, because I found myself laughing out loud so often and loud that my roommates asked me what I was laughing about. This is a fantastic book and you can tell that Rick Sanders knows what he is doing when writing. The flow of this book is fantastic and the way it is woven together is truly perfection. Thomas and Lee are characters that I could see myself hanging out with in real life, and watching them going through this journey once they hit Yeehaw Junction makes you wonder how you would react to the trouble yourself. If you want to read a book that will keep you on your toes, keep you entertained, and make you truly joyously happy with reading, I would recommend this book in a heartbeat.
