I read books solely for entertainment, and this book fulfilled this purpose perfectly. I give this book 4 out of 4 stars.

C. J. McWain is the author of this novel Stone: Confessions of a Rock Star. She wrote two more books called Between Kings and The Druid's Curse. All three books were published by the Createspace Independent Publishing Platform in 2015. Stone is an Other Fiction novel. This story is not appropriate for young readers due to language and sexual content.

Stone is a sexy Rock Star who is literally drowning in his own sea of lies. He selfishly spends years perusing a woman he can't have. The day has finally come for his lies to catch up with him and force him to tell the truth. Stone is desperate for a confession and what better way to do that than give the world one hell of a juicy memoir!

I believe this novel has all the right elements to earn a 4 star rating. It is simply beautiful in every sense of the word. The premise gave a brief glimpse of the protagonist's thoughts about writing one's personal troubles in a journal. I connected instantly from the start of the introduction and felt his vulnerability in sharing with the world his darkest secrets. This story tackles many themes such as infidelity, family, first love, and finally revealing the truth.

The plot was extremely new to me, I had no inkling to where he was going and that excited me more than anything else could. I went through all his accomplishments, his mistakes, his challenges and his dreams, and came out rooting for him. His lies created a delicate house of cards that could tumble down in any moment, and this feeling kept me nervous and on edge almost the entire book. I was thoroughly and utterly entertained.

I think in order to set a great constant pace in a memoir that would not confuse the reader in any way the author must have great writing skills. I believe Mcwain has those skills because I liked the pace she set in this memoir. Although the pace was exceedingly fast; I neither felt lost nor bored. I was able to catch up perfectly fine due to her writing style.

The author's character development and her writing style are remarkable. What I liked the most about this character was that although he lied to almost everyone around him, he never once lied to himself. I found that so refreshing that I liked him more despite his character flaws. He slowly matured through the book. He finally acknowledged that he played a huge role in destroying his marriage. He felt very human in every way possible, and surprisingly enough, that connected me more to him.

I highly admire the author's choice of vocabulary and I thank her for educating me with new words. I loved her writing style because I initially thought that I couldn’t relate to the protagonist, but then the author's writing style was so real and human that I finally related in a way. The story was more than well written; it was very smooth and very easy to follow. However, what delighted me the most was the author's ability to shake me. All through the book I wasn’t sure what I wanted him to do, to stop or to continue. I loved and hated him at the same time. Although this is a fictional memoir, it has stirred in me many emotions. From her writing alone, I felt angry, nervous, depressed, happy, guilty, betrayed, scared and finally and blessedly calm. These emotions gave me one fantastic ride and made me like the book even more.

With the presence of some typos, I still recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a thorough entertainment. I truly think this novel has all the right elements for a great read. I don’t think the author needs any advice from me; she is one very talented storyteller. I look forward to reading and reviewing more of her books.

Great story! It was a quick read because I just couldn't put it down! The best thing about it is instead of the main characters being so perfect they aren't realistic, they are flawed (like we all are), but still likable, and you find yourself rooting for Stone even when he kept making the wrong decisions over and over again, and being so happy when he finally got it right in the end! Great job, can't wait til your next book!

This is an amazing book. Provide a lifetime experience, with all the challenges, the disappointments, accomplishments, the unplanned. Cynthia managed to entertain us to a point that we need more... It shows real life and how we deal with it. It was fun to read it !Congratulations !

It was really entertaining and humorous. I wasn't sure what to expect based on the title and introduction but once I started I was hooked.

Stone made me laugh and cry. I thought the characters were well developed and the story line was fun and engaging. It was clever to have it seem as though Stone got away with everything and yet not because once the memoir is published his deeds will be revealed. I'd like to read a sequel to see what happens when the truth comes out.

Clever and witty! I think that sums it up perfectly. It was a fun book to read and I really liked the fast paced style the author chose to use. Stone himself was hilarious!I'd love to see this story unfold in a movie.
